Cancellation

Cancellation requests must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the cleaning date. This 24-hour notification period counts business days, Monday through Friday 7:30am-5pm (for a Monday cleaning, notification of cancellation must be submitted by 5pm Friday). Cancellation less than 24 hours before the clean date will incur a $75.00 cancellation fee. In the event of a same-day cancellation that occurs upon employee(s) arriving at the location, the cancellation fee will be the price of the cleaning. All cancellations will be confirmed by us, if you have not received confirmation by 12:00pm the following business day, please contact us by email at GetMermaid.123@gmail.com or call the office at 703-243-8308.

Payment

Payment shall be made in full at the time services are rendered in the form of a check made out to Mermaid Inc. If the client does not provide a check the day of the cleaning, we request that they pay within a week of the cleaning day.

Theft

The safety of our clients’ belongings is crucial to us. Fortunately, our employee turnover has made theft a non-issue in thirty years of operation. Mermaid Inc. has a bond covering theft which has never been used in the history of the company.

Privacy

Clients’ information (contact, payment, location, etc.) will not be sold or shared by Mermaid Inc.

Communication

All special requests should be given by phone at least 24 hours prior to the cleaning date. This allows us ample time to schedule, communicate to our employees, and determine if an additional fee will be necessary. If you lose electricity or water to your home/business, or if road conditions near your home/business are unsafe, please call our office at your earliest convenience to reschedule (at no cost to you).

Employment

We verify each candidate’s employment eligibility prior to hiring. All personnel are Mermaid Inc. employees as we do not use independent contractors.

Cleaning Staff

While Mermaid Inc.'s policy is to send the same employee(s) to each client's home, a substitute may occasionally be needed to keep your schedule. Mermaid will notify clients if a substitute is necessary. If the client refuses a substitute, there will be a fee of up to $75.00 added to the subsequent clean to compensate the employee for additional time needed to clean your home.

Worry Free Guarantee

Mermaid Inc. guarantees customer satisfaction. If you are unhappy with the quality of all or part of your cleaning, call us and we will return to re-clean the item or area.

Client Prep

We ask that pet and child items are to be cleared from the floor prior to the arrival of the cleaners. To maximize the effectiveness of our dedicated staff, any other items that could clutter the cleaning space should also be cleared (if it is practical to do so).

Breakage

We do our best to secure your belongings, but sometimes accidents do occur. If something in your home/business is damaged by a Mermaid Inc. employee, they will immediately contact management, and notify the client if they are present. Mermaid Inc. will then immediately contact the client to discuss replacement, repair, or other compensation for the item. We do not dock employee pay to cover such expenses.

Non-Solicitation of Employees

Per industry standard, clients agree not to engage current or former employees of Mermaid, Inc. for housecleaning duties for a period of two years past the date of the employee’s last cleaning for Mermaid, Inc.

Hours Of Operation

7:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Holiday Hours: We are closed on Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday..

Cancellations: In general, we follow local school districts for cancellations due to inclement weather or other extenuating circumstances. However, customers will always be notified directly by phone or text if we must cancel an appointment.

COVID-19 Response

At Mermaid Inc., we value our clients’ safety and peace of mind above all else. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have taken the following precautions to ensure that we can clean your home safely and responsibly:

Employees are required to wear masks and single use disposable gloves during cleaning.

Each home is assigned client specific cleaning towels to be used only in that home.

For the safety of everyone involved, we will cancel an appointment if we are made aware that the client/employee or anyone in contact with them has exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 in the last two weeks.

We use an EPA approved ECOLAB disinfectant certified to kill COVID-19 in under 45 seconds, with methods in accordance with EPA’s “Six Steps for Safe Disinfectant Use.

All cleaning equipment is fully sanitized before entering each home.

We have updated our cleaning protocols to emphasize disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, appliance handles, faucets, etc.

Prior to entering a home, employees monitor for fever using company-provided no-touch infrared thermometers.
